In Benalmadena Pueblo
Ntro. Padre Jesús Nazareno Brotherhood, pays homage to Benalmadena’s patron saint, Nuestra Señora de la Cruz, and on January 2, from 17:00, organizates the traditional presentation of the children baptized in 2005 to Nuestra Querida Madre la Virgen de la Cruz.
In this occasion, over 30 children will receive the blessing of the parish priest of Santo Domingo Church, Mr. Antonio Loren, in the hermitage located in La Cruz hill, in Benalmadena Pueblo.
That’s why the brotherhood has made diplomas and has organized an afternoon snack with chocolate and Benalmádena pancakes.
Also, it is a tradition to go to an afternoon snack in different places, such as Gruta de Lourdes and Parque Rústico Finca Casablanca, where they have the afternoon snack, commemorate popular and traditional games and make small fires in honour to Candelaria.
In Arroyo de la Miel.
A group of neighbourgs will go on a pilgrimage to a small cavern-hermitage located in the slope of Monte Calamorro, where an afternoon snack will also be celebrated.
The said hermitage is located in the upper part of Monte Calamorro by the line of the cablecar.
Departure is at 16:00 from the gate of the cemetery of Arroyo de la Miel-Cerro del Viento.
Its clear that Benalmadena is a great town, but it celebrates and lives the old traditions.
