REGATTA
The 4th NAUTICAL WEEK OF THE COSTA DEL SOL will be held in Benalmadena between April 13 and 15, 2006, both included, organized by the Club Maritimo of Benalmadena, Benalmadena Marina and the collaboration of the Andalusian Sailing Federation.
The 4th NAUTICAL WEEK OF THE COSTA DEL SOL is a regatta for Cruise Ships, Category I, II and III.
1. - RULES
1.1 The regatta will follow:
a) the regatta rules as set out in the Sailing Regatta Rules of the ISAF 2005- 2008 (RRV)
b) the Technical Rules of Cruises 2006 and annexes.
c) The IMS Measurement Rules.
d) The IMS Habitability Rules.
e) The special Rules for offshore regattas of the Offshore Racing Council ( O.R.C.). 2005-2006), category 4.
This regatta announcement may be changed by the regatta instructions.
2. - PUBLICITY
2.1 Regatta participants may advertise category C ads, in accordance with Appendix 1, rule No. 20 of the ISAF, and the legal principles of the RFEV to such appendix.
2.2 Pursuant to Appendix 1, Rule 20.3.d (1) of the RRV, participants may be demanded to place ads in 20% of the hull, on both sides of the ships, which will be provided by the Organising Committee.
3. - ELIGIBILITY
3.1 Participants must meet the eligibility conditions shown in Appendix 2, Rule 19 of the ISAF, and the Prescriptions of the RFEV to such appendix.
3.2 Spanish participants or participants with legal residence in Spain must be holders of the sport federative licence for 2006. Foreign participants must have the equivalent licence of their country or an accident insurance hired at their country.
4. – PATICIPATING CATEGORIES
4.1 Ships that have a Measurement Certificate and IMS Habitability for 2006.
4.2 There are the following categories:

1- IMS CATEGORY CBetween 496 and 675 sec/mile
If the SERIAL or LAUNCHING date is later than 1/01/95, then DA >= 0,15
·
2- IMS 670 Between 625 and < 675 sec/mileThey must meet this category’s rules.

3- IMS CATEGORY D=> 635 sec/mile5.-INSCRIPTIONS
5.1 Pre-inscriptions.
5.1.1 Inscriptions will be made by completing the attached form and sending it with a photocopy of a valid Measurement Certificate, a photocopy of the Habitability Certificate 2006 and a proof of payment, before April 12, 2006, at 20:00, to the following address:

5.1.2 Inscription rights are as follows:

IMS 670 : 100 Euros·
IMS CATEGORY D : 80 Euros
5.1.3 Payment of the inscription rights will be proven by presenting a photocopy of the money transfer to:

5.1.4 The Organising Committee reserves the right to accept registrations that are submitted after the registration closing date. Ships whose inscription is made after said date will have to pay 20% over the set registration fee.
5.1.5 Confirmation of Inscription
5.2.1 The ship owner or person in charge of a ship must register and personally sign the Registration form at the Regatta Office before April 12,. 2006. Modifications will not be allowed in the rating certificate after 14:00 of the day before the inscriptions deadline.
5.2.2. Registrations are subject to the presentation of the following documents before the set time:
a) Valid IMS Measurement Certificate
b) IMS habitability Certificate.
c) Current insurance policy which covers public liability (damage to a third party or assets/goods), or extension of public liability for a minimum amount of up to 330,556.66 Euros.
d) In case of advertising, an authorisation of the National Authority for exhibiting adverts in Category C.
e) For Spanish crew members, a federative licence with a government habilitation.
f) List of crew members with their Spanish id or Passport number and contact telephone number.
5.3 Registrations of ships which have no rating certificate with the 2nd sheet will not be accepted after 20:00 of April 12, 2006, at the Regatta Office (form rule 78.2 of the RRV).
6-PROGRAM
12 April, from 16:00 to 20:00. Opening. Registration of participants.
13, 14 and 15 April at 12:00. Races
There are 5 races and participants have to complete at least one of them so that the regatta is valid.
7-REGATTA RACE COURSE
7.1 The Regatta instructions specify the race courses, which can be:

Circular courses8-MEASUREMENT INSPECTION
Safety and Measurement controls may be carried out on a daily basis.
9. - SCORE
Appendix A and the Low Score System will be applied, as described in Rule A-4 of the RRV.
10. - CLASSIFICATIONS
10.1 Classifications will be made in accordance with the RTC 2006.
10.2 There will be an independent classification for every category..
10.3 The DA and AA will be applied.
11. - SAFETY
11.1 The safety at this regatta is considered as category 4, in accordance with the Special Rules for High Seas of the ORC.
11.2 All ships must be equipped with a VHF radio with channels 16 and 72. It will be each ship owner’s responsibility to meet the legal requirements for leisure ships, whether the general ones and the special ones foir their ships navigability, efficiency and safety.
12. - TROPHIES
Trophies will be specified in the Regatta instructions or the OTA the day before the 1st scheduled race.
13. – MOORING PLACES
Ships whose inscription is accepted for this regatta will have a reserved mooring place in Benalmadena marina between April 12 and 16, 2006.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to assign the mooring places to ships according to their registration order, and depending on their size and draught.
Those ships based in other ports must confirm their participation at least 15 days prior to the regatta so as to plan their mooring places.
14.- RESPONSIBILITY
All regatta participants take part in it at their own risk.
The Organising Committee or any person or organisation/institution involved in organising the regatta refuses any responsibility with regard to any loss, damage, injury or disturbance that may affect and person or thing, both in land or on the sea, as a consequence of their participation in the regatta races. Please, refer to Fundamental Rule No. 4 on Racing Decision, included in part 1 of the RRV, which says: ‘It is a ship owner’s exclusive responsibility to decide to take part in a RACE and/or to continue in the regatta’.
15.- SOCIAL EVENTS
All events will take place at Centro Nautico de Benalmadena, except for breakfast and the golf lessons to be held on April 15, Saturday, in Torrequebrada golf course. There will be a bus to take participants to this golf course.
