Spain was thrown into confusion in the 1980’s: coup d’Etat, inflation and thousands of unemployed people. This situation was the excuse for the social need called ‘the change’. That’s why groups like Mecano, Radio Futura..., came out, who were called ‘la movida’ groups (the Madrid nightclub and music scene in the early 80's). Like the 1980’s, "Hoy no me puedo levantar" musical shall be an optimist, encouraging, recreational musical. A real reflect of the happiness and joie de vivre that characterized the time where the musical is set.
