Benito Lacunza, a mediocre trumpeter, returns to Estella, his home town, for a few days. There he finds out that his kind brother Lalo, nicknamed ‘Ironman’ because of the sculptures he makes of recycled scrap iron, has a girlfriend. Benito knows her from his adolescent partying sprees- she is Nines, a single mother life has not treated very well. Benito intends to rescue Lalo from Nines… but he stumbles upon Ainara, Nines’ daughter, a rebellious introverted girl, a smoker, with whom Benito will end up developing an unusual friendship.

When things go wrong for this peculiar family, Benito will decide for the first time in his life to hold the reins and help, in his own style, all the persons he loves.
