The body of Melquiades Estrada is found right on the desert where he had been quickly buried after being killed. The local authorities, not worried about the reason beyond this crime, bury Melquiades in the public cemetery. Pete Perkins, foreman of the region and Melquiades’ best friend, decides to investigate himself and find who the murderer is. He asks his friend to take him to his birthplace, Eldorado, in Mexico. This way he will offer Melquíades Melquiades his most beautiful trip- that of his third burial.
