Mathematics is the language we use to describe reality; everything involves translating phenomena from the physical and social world into numbers, equations, and algorithms. The director of the Telecommunications Research Institute at the University of Malaga and director of the Hedy Lamarr Chair in Women and Technology will show how this translation occurs and its limits, exploring how artificial intelligence has become a new way of modeling the world: powerful, but sometimes incomprehensible.

The talk is participatory and aimed at all audiences.
