FRIENDS OF HISTORY. HISTORICAL ENIGMAS ON THE ISLAND OF LA PALMA
5:30 PM
The island of La Palma holds enigmatic petroglyphs in many of its ravines. It has more than 500 prehistoric sites filled with precisely executed circular motifs, spirals, and fretwork carved into the rock. There are pyramids with evidence of sun worship and mummified bodies.
Paco Quevedo will share his research with us, posing the following questions: Why do these carved petroglyphs, unlike the painted ones found in the rest of the Canary Islands, exist only on La Palma, and in such quantity? Could an unknown culture have existed long before what is recognized by official history? Who were they, and where did they come from?
